Healthy Eating

Eating together in the Dining Hall is one of the key elements of ¾µäÈý¼¶ life and it is true to say that the food here is exceptional.

We enrich the dining experience for pupils by prioritising their wellbeing and promoting lifelong healthy eating habits. Each day, a variety of vibrant food is on offer, from globally inspired street food and plant-based dishes to elevated classics like the traditional Sunday roast. These menus reflect the ever-changing food landscape and appeal to the ¾µäÈý¼¶ community, making food a major highlight of school life.

Quality and variety

Partnering with Holroyd Howe, a leading contract-catering company for independent schools, ensures that every meal is delicious, nutritious, and fresh to support pupils’ positive journeys throughout their school years. Holroyd Howe creates immersive, engaging dining experiences that push the boundaries of school catering, adding real value to ¾µäÈý¼¶ by inspiring, educating, and delighting at every meal while promoting responsible food choices.

The team works closely with pupils in areas such as nutrition and special dietary requirements as well as in more specialised areas such as sports nutrition and contributing to ¾µäÈý¼¶â€™s life skills programme, helping in areas such as cooking skills, making the right food choices, food safety and kitchen tasks.

Pupil voice

Chaired by Peter Blair, Head of Boarding, the Food Committee is a fundamental part of catering at ¾µäÈý¼¶.

Meeting every half term, the Food Committee includes a representative from each Boarding House. We encourage pupils to take an active role in menu creation by giving them a voice to discuss, make suggestions and vote on what they want on their plates. This ensures that our menus are guided by the tastes of the pupils.
