11+ Lower School 1 (Year 7)
The entrance assessments take place in the November preceding the year of entry (a candidate’s Year 6).

We admit around 60 pupils each year into Lower School One (Year 7). All pupils for Year 7 are assessed in the Autumn term of Year 6.

Many parents will visit the School for a Year 7 place when their child is in Year 5. We host a number of Open Days and the dates for the next Autumn Term Open Days are Saturday 5 October 2024 for our Whole School Open Morning and Thursday 7 November for our 11+ Open Morning.Ìý
We also welcome families for individual tours throughout the year and please email visits@haileybury.com to make an appointment.

To be considered for a place at ¾µäÈý¼¶, please register your child with us by completing the Registration Form. There is a non-refundable registration fee of £200. Upon registration, please send Admissions a copy of your child’s latest school report and a copy of their passport.
In order to ensure that we can fully support each child on their learning journey we need to be aware of children who have specific learning needs. If this applies to your child, please declare this on the Registration Form. Please contact a member of the Admissions department if you wish to discuss this.ÌýÌý
Registrations are accepted at any point up until the deadline date of Monday 11 November 2024.

All applicants will sit ¾µäÈý¼¶ papers in Maths and English to assess their fundamental understanding of these core subjects. All applicants will also sit an online cognitive abilities test (CAT4) which includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, quantitative and spatial assessments. All applicants will also have an interview with a member of staff.
Where possible, pupils are asked to come on-site and sit the entrance exams. The day is designed to be as pressure-free as possible and the applicants have time to get to know each other and enjoy lunch in the Dining Hall.Ìý
¾µäÈý¼¶ also offers a remote, online testing session where international pupils may sit their entrance examinations from home and are invigilated by a member of ¾µäÈý¼¶ staff. Alternatively international applicants may be permitted to sit the entrance exams at offices of the British Council, at the offices of a recognised educational agent working with ¾µäÈý¼¶ or at a lawyers’ office.
The closing date for registrations is Wednesday 30 October 2024.
The dates for the 11+ entrance examinations are Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November 2024.

All elements of the examination process are considered during the undertaking of making decisions by the Decisions Committee.Ìý
Exam applicants will be informed of the outcome on Thursday 12 December 2024.
Notification of acceptances is required by Monday 3ÌýMarch 2025.Ìý

All new parents are sent an Information For New Parents booklet in the Summer Term, which provides important information about joining the School.Ìý
All incoming pupils are invited to Experience Days during the Spring and Summer Terms which is a marvellous opportunity for them to get to know the School and each other before starting in September.Ìý
All pupils and families are invited to a Welcome Day in the Summer Term where parents will hear from the Head of Lower School and the Form Tutors whilst their children enjoy team-building activities.
An Induction Day for all new pupils will also be held at the start of the Autumn Term.
